- Luke 10:9 ESV – 9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
- Luke 11:20 ESV – 20 But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
- Matthew 4:17 ESV – 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.“
- Luke 22:18 ESV – 18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.“
One may ask “How can all four things be true at the same time?” I always like to think of what happens when it first begins to rain as compared to what happens when it is fully raining. The rain has come near and upon us, yet it is still at hand, and it is still yet to come. Some have summarized this as the “Now but Not Yet” or the “Already but Not Yet.” None the less all four things are true at the same time.
