All Things Kingdom Related

I have always liked to summarize that Jesus proclaimed the Kingdom through the demonstration of Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance. As I was preparing a message on the Four Truths About the Kingdom¨ (see previous teaching post), I was slapped across the face, as that is exactly what Jesus did as he taught about the Kingdom

Healing;

• Luke 10:9 ESV – 9 Heal the sickin it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

Deliverance:

• Luke 11:20 ESV – 20 But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Salvation:

• Matthew 4:17 ESV – 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.“

Proclaiming Jesus as Coming King:

• Luke 22:18 ESV – 18 For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.“

Jesus did not bring the Kingdom by talking about the need to go to heaven; he brought the Kingdom by demonstrating our need to come under the rule and reign of God!
